About Oluce: |
 |
Oluce was established in 1945 by the master Giuseppe Ostuni. Oluce is one of the oldest Italian lighting company's that is still working today. Some of the earlier works by Gio Ponti in 1954 was a new floor lamp ''Agnoli'' a spot light supported on a stem with the absence of a lamp shade. In the 1960 Joe Colombo collaborated with Oluce on several award winning design like the Spider, Fresnel and Coupe which 1967 won the first ''Compasso d'oro'' award for Oluce. This was also the first time the idea of a "lamp family" was presented with the Spider model. In 1972 Oluce released the Colombo desk lamp, the first halogen table light.
Through the change of ownership at Oluce, Vico Magistretti became art director for many years and continued the company tradition of unmistakable design which lead to the birth of the Atollo, Lester, Sonora, Pascal, Lyndon, Piazza San Marco and Dim. The complete collection includes Laterna, Fiore, Bianca, Drop, Diamond, Can-Led, Nerolia, Pin Stripe, Teda and Stones of Glass.
