Vico Magistretti — Architect & Designer for Oluce
Vico Magistretti (1920-2006) was a Milanese architect and designer whose Atollo table lamp for Oluce won the Compasso d'Oro in 1979 and became one of the most recognised lamps in the world. The Atollo's stacked geometry — cylinder, cone and hemisphere — is a masterclass in reductive form. Magistretti also designed the Sonora pendant for Oluce and iconic furniture for Cassina, Artemide and De Padova. He was a defining voice of Italian rationalist design.
