Leucos was established in 1962 on the Venetian mainland, drawing on the island of Murano's unbroken glassblowing tradition to produce lighting of rare material integrity. The brand's founders understood that the quality of Murano glass — its density, translucency, and behaviour under heat — was not merely aesthetic but structural: the glass itself IS the lamp, not a shade applied to a fitting. Over six decades, Leucos has developed a design language built on the relationship between form and diffusion. Collaborations with Tobia Scarpa, Paolo Rizatto, and the Vistosi family produced pendants, sconces, and table lights that treat blown glass as a primary architectural material — forms that emit rather than merely transmit light. The Lio, Celine, and Stilio collections are among the most recognised in contemporary glass lighting. Today, Leucos continues to handcraft every piece in its Venetian workshops, using traditional canne and soffiato techniques alongside precision metalwork in satin nickel and brushed brass. The result is a catalogue where no two pieces are identical — a quality of uniqueness that no industrial process can replicate.
